Fruit Dumplings


Ingredients
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • 11 peaches or plums or cherries or apples or pears or berries or strawberries or...
  • Powdered sugar
  • Cottage cheese (whipped if you can find it, so good)
Directions
  • In large sausepan, bring milk, butter and salt to a boil, stirring continously
  • Remove from heat
  • Whisk in egg, and gradually add 1 cup of the flour
  • Mix well
  • Coat a cutting board with the rest of the flour
  • Knead the dough on the cutting board until it forms a large ball
  • Tear off a piece and smash into a thin pancake
  • Place the fruit the center, and wrap the entire thin in the dough, making sure to pinch off the end
  • Boil water in a medium pot
  • Place dumplings in water slowly, and boil for 20 minutes or until they rise to the top.
  • Serve with cottage cheese, melted butter, and powdered sugar on top.

Sopsky Salat (aka: the czech salad that only Teasha liked)


Ingredients
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1 cucumber
  • 3 different colored peppers (green, red, yellow)
  • 1/2 vidalia or Spanish Onion
  • 200-300 g Feta Cheese

Directions

  • Chop all the vegetables into cubes
  • Shred or crumble the feta over the top (the Feta gives the flavor and keeps the salad from being dry, so don't even think about skipping it. You can add a little olive oil if there's not enough juice) .

BLT dip

1 pkg. cream cheese softened
1/2 c. ranch dressing
1 med. tomato, seeded and diced (3/4 c)
6 bacon slices, crisply cooked and chopped
1/2 c. finely chopped celery
2 T. finely chopped onion
1 t. sugar
Lettuce leaves
2 loaves of canape french bread

Place cream chees in bowl stir in dressing. Mix well. Add everything else except lettuce leaves and bread. Refridgerate 3 hours. To serve line bowl with lettuce leaves. Fill with dip. Garnish with tomatoes. Serve with toasted bread.

Toast bread slices for 10-12 minson 350 or until golden.

Grape Chicken Salad


chicken breast cubed (I use canned)
celery chopped
almond slivers
pineapple tidbits (juice drained)
1 t. curry powder
1 T. lemon juice
grapes halved
1 C. mayo
1/2 c. sour cream
Stir together and chill. Spoon over red/green leaf lettuce ripped in small bit size pieces. Enjoy!!! Really good :)

Oh so good cinnamon rolls

Dough:
1 1/2 T. Yeast
1/2 c. warm water
2 eggs
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. melted butter or margarine
2 T. salt
1 c. warm water
4 1/2 c. flour

dissolve yeast in warm water set aside. Beat eggs. Add sugar and beat well. Add butter, salt, and water. Mix well/ add yeast mixture add 1 cup at a time add flour. Put into a buttered bowl cover loosely with saran wrap that has been buttered. Let dough double in size punch down. Knead on a floured surface and toll out dough so that it is a rectangle Melt 1/2 c. butter spread on dough, sprinkle with brown sugar. Sprinkle with cinnamon and white sugar. Roll dough up to make a long tube. Cut with dental floss about 2 in. thick. Place on a greased pan, let rise to about double in size. Place in over at 400 for 12-15 mins. Coll for a few then frost.

Frosting:
4 oz. softened cream cheese
1 c. softened butter
Beat together then add
1/2 lb powdered sugar
1 T. vanilla
mix well then spread over top. Oh so so yummy you will gain 10 lbs but well worth it!!!!

Teasha Approved Beef Stew

Chooped stew meat/roast
beef stew mix
1 cup tomato sauce
1 large onion
1 can stewed tomatoes
3-4 large potatoes; cubed
3-4 large carrots; cubed
2-3 celery chopped
1-2 cans green beans; reserved

Brown sides of meat in large frying pan with oil
and diced onions. After brown put in crockpot
add all ingredients except green beans. Cook
for 4-6 hours on med. add green beans the last
15-30 mins.
This is my favorite winter meal! The longer you
leave it in the crockpot the better :)

Dill Veggie dip


1 cup Sour cream
1/2 cup mayo
1T. finely chopped onion
2t. dried parsley flakes
1t. dill weed
1t. seasoned salt

Mix together cover and chilll.
